The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.

((Some of you may remember I took in a chicken that fell off a slaughter truck and eventually found her a good home on a large farm where she would not killed and she’d have a lot of space to roam around. I got to see her a week later and she’s doing great and seems really happy! She also got a good bit bigger!))

Geese.  They’re in close association with ducks.  Peer pressure has turned them into bad seeds..  It’s not a good situation.

((That is me and Stompie the chicken. Stompie fell out of a chicken truck, bound for slaughter. I found her in a storm, on the side of the road and took her home. She stayed with me for five days, and in just that short amount of time became the one of the friendliest animals I have ever had the pleasure to rescue.

I had planned to keep her for the duration of her life (witch isnt expected to be long, because she is bred to be slaughtered at 6 weeks old. These Cornish Crosses are just not built to last). I expected, having been raised in a filthy and cramped chicken house and never knowing affection, she would always remain afraid of me, however the first night I got her, I managed to get her to settle down enough to get rubbed behind the ears. She decided she liked that quite alot, and instantly became very attached to me.

In two days, Stompie went from being hours away from slaughter and never knowing any sort of kindness, to being an extreamly happy little chicken who followed me around the yard, got to walk on grass and in the sunshine for the first time would climb up into my lap, lay down and fall asleep while I petted her.

On day three, I felt pretty sick, but I still needed to let Stompie out in the grass for a few hours, so I tooka beach towl with me and layed on that while I kept an eye on her. I accidently fell asleep, but was soon woke up by Stompie wiggling her way up under my arm to lay down with me. She rested her head on my arm and went to sleep. Then, I realized, even though I had become so attatched to her, I needed to send her someplace with other chickens. I would be going back to school soon, and these 6 hour walks in the yard with me would have to stop. She needed a big farm with other animals and chickens to occupy her.

I got in touch with a teacher I had in high school, who I know had a farm and had laying hens that they didnt kill. She gladly took Stompie just yesterday. Stompie will still get a lot of petting and human attention. She had huge open and safe places to run around in. It really killed me to let her go though.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my little chicken story with you guys. I know it’s OOC, but I could totally see Finny doing the same thing, lol. I didnt pick to RP Finny for no reason. I love animals and gardening too.))
